Presidency School NLO, put up its Valedictory ceremony for its X graders. The ceremony wound round the Theme ‘Make a Difference ‘ in an orchestrated process involving a march of students onto the stage, the reading of speeches, the giving of awards, and of course – the commencement exercise, the official moment when the students are declared graduated. It is one of the most important moments in a student’s life as it marks a transition from one stage in his/her educational life to another. The graduation ceremony was attended by parents of the graduates with the Chief Guest for the day Prof Jawahar, Pro- Chancellor PES delivering the key note address. The event was blessed by the presence of the Chairman of Presidency Group Mr. Nissar Ahmed, Director of PGS Mr. Thangadurai , Mrs. Vijaya Iyer Principal St.Paul’s English School and other dignitaries, A classical invocation song that was rendered melodiously to invoke the blessings of the Almighty flagged off the ceremony for the day. The School and the House flags were handed over to the new leaders as a mantle of responsibility by the outgoing Captains .A very emotional moment indeed! Parent representatives of the outgoing batch spoke of the Value Based Education at Presidency that had given their children the roots to stay grounded and the wings to aspire. The Outgoing students pledged their allegiance to the School and the Nation while the Captains became nostalgic as they recalled their journey down memory lane. The Principal, Mrs. Fathima spoke of ways of means to Make a difference without consciously having to make an effort. Love and kindness are never wasted. They always make a difference. They bless the one who receives them, and they bless you, the giver. The Chief Guest in his address encouraged students to work and better themselves than compete with others . The parting message was that one person can make a difference. In fact, it’s not only possible for one person to make a difference, it’s essential that one person makes a difference. And believe it or not, that person is you. The choir livened the atmosphere by the rendition of soulful numbers such as ‘Read all About it’, ‘Make a Difference’ which tugged at all heart strings.Students were awarded special achievement awards as they reveled in this moment of pride as the parents looked on with a sense of achievement as an award was conferred on their child. Their graduation will forever remain a day to be remembered forever as they will always look back to the pride they felt this day, and the chance they had at School . There was praise and thanks to give to those who supported them, and great friendships to acknowledge. Abhijeet Singh sounded the formal vote of thanks to all in the most overwhelming tones possible and wet many an eye. The curtain call came as the candles were lit , lighting up the still dark night with hope, aspirations and the unrelenting desire to make a difference.
